One-off orders and repeat stock planning

For a single job, start with the load and the date the pallets must be ready. For regular purchasing, describe typical quantity per order, reorder interval, available notice and changes in volume. Decide which features must match every time and which cosmetic differences you can accept.

UK standard 1200 × 1000 mm and Euro-size 1200 × 800 mm options should be compared against packaging, customer intake and handling equipment. If your customer specifies exchangeable pallets, provide the scheme separately from the footprint.

Receiving supply from the Havant base

Share the full delivery postcode, booking procedure, receiving contact, access restrictions and unloading equipment. Confirm the proposed vehicle and placement arrangement rather than assuming a forklift or unloading service will be included. Visits are by appointment: call 023 9239 7737; the contact label is 8am–5pm, by appointment only.

We supply the wider South Coast including Portsmouth, Southampton, Chichester and Poole subject to delivery quote. Surplus collection is a separate case-by-case review around Havant and its surroundings, based on photos, type, condition, quantity and safe loading access.

03

Start with the movement

Tell us what is being placed on the pallet, how the weight is spread and whether it will be moved by forklift, pallet truck, conveyor or another system. Include any rack, automated equipment or customer specification. These details are more meaningful than asking for a ‘strong pallet’ without context.

If you are replacing an existing pallet, provide dimensions and clear photographs of the top, underside and blocks or bearers. Marks can also help identify what needs checking, although a mark by itself does not establish condition or suitability.

04

What we look at

Used pallet quality is assessed in context. Broken boards, projecting nails, damaged blocks, loose components, contamination and unsuitable repairs are important checks. Timber colour and weathering can vary and are not reliable measures of structural performance.

A consistent footprint does not guarantee identical construction. If repeatability matters for machinery, packaging or customer acceptance, say so at the quotation stage. We can then discuss what level of matching is practical for the enquiry.

05

Questions for a useful quotation

Include quantity, pallet footprint, required construction or example, intended load and use, delivery postcode, access and unloading arrangements, and when the pallets are needed. Availability and scheduling are confirmed only in a quotation.

If the pallets are for export, include the destination and marking requirement. We can supply used pallets already heat-treated and correctly marked for ISPM 15, or arrange treatment through a registered partner, subject to the specification, availability and destination rules.

Useful answers

Common questions

Does reconditioned mean the pallets will look new?

Reconditioned pallets maintain the character of used timber, including natural colour and cosmetic variation.

Can suitability be confirmed from a photograph?

Photographs help identify a specification, but intended load, handling and condition still need to be discussed.
